You don’t  you only see the moon cause the sun shines on the moon then the moon shines the sun brightness on earth so the whole time you see the moon  so you can’t see the moon and sun at the same time and there is a waxing moon and a waning moon  the waxing moon is like the moon the moon looks bigger each night. The waning moon the moon looks smaller each night. The moons moves bye orbiting around the world.
